portfolios

The middle school portfolio is built with the purpose of showing a student's versatility. A student wants to make it evident (when their portfolio is being evaluated at the high school) that they achieved critical mastery of different media and subject matter or theme.

While AP Portfolios at the high school level usually share a commonality, whether media, theme, technique or other, the middle schools' portfolio purpose is to show a broad diversity both in media and theme.

I suggest that students make two columns, one of media and one of themes and then select one from column A and one from column B to create a piece for their portfolio.

As per Next Generation Sunshine State Standards, students are required to produce 10 pieces per semester for their portfolios.
